What type of models do you offer?

We specialise in offering a wide range of steam plants for use by serious modellers wanting a steam plant for their model boat. The individual items used to assemble the range of steam plants are also available for both marine and stationary installations. 

What materials are used to make the models?

Our models are made of high-quality corrosion resistant bronze, brass, copper, and nodular cast iron (for crankshafts only). 

How are the models powered?

The models are powered by live steam, which is generated by heating water in a boiler. Our Guide to Steam Plant Operation section has extensive information on this subject. 

I am new to building model steam boats, how can I learn?

We do not sell boat models – only the steam based plants that can power them. You can learn more about building them with these resources;

Ordering Details

How do I know my product will arrive without damage

To ensure that our products arrive undamaged when being sent all over the world, we have developed special packaging. You can read about this in details on page 5 of our Advanced User guide

Do the products have a warranty?

All of our products come with a 1-year warranty, so you can shop with confidence knowing that we stand behind our products. You can read more about it in our policy

I placed an order and haven't been charges yet, did my order go through?

Miniature Steam Pty Ltd prefers to receive payment for orders when the order is ready for despatch, not at the time of order placement. Which means your payment may be taked in the weeks following, you will receive email updates on your order.

What does "Int. price" mean?

Prices displayed as "Int.price" which is the EXPORT AUD price used at the checkout, and "Inc GST" which is used for Australian deliveries and includes the 10% GST required by Australian law!

Which payment option should I use?

You may exercise any of the payment options but, when you get to the "Payment Method" page, we would prefer you click on the button "PayPal Invoice when order is ready for posting".

Shipping and Returns

Australian Orders

We offer FREE freight/postage for all orders over AUD$500.00!

All other shipping costs are calculated by software provided by Australia Post based on the aggregated weight of the order plus 2% of the total value of the order to cover packaging and handling.

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship to UK, EU, & NORTH AMERICA.

What is the return policy?

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you can return it for a full refund within 30 days of receiving the order. All you need to do to intiate a return is contact us or email us at info@miniaturesteammodels.com. For more information read our returns policy

How long does it take to receive my order?

Our product are mostly made to order so it can typically take 2-3 weeks to be processed and shipped. To learn more head to our Shipping Policy
